Howdy and welcome to my site! I'm Laurie and I'll be your, er, hostess today. :)
I'm a Canadian expat living in Sri Lanka, been here since 2003 and loving it.
I cook Sri Lankan curries, sambols, and mallungs. I bake bread using wild yeast (sourdough that isn't sour). I bake on the stove. And I experiment wildly.

Beautiful pictures! And I love starfruits, they’re so refreshing and their juice is great for soothing sore throats.

Looks as though they resemble an orange in texture o the inside. wouldn’t have guessed as they look melony or gourd like on the outside. Thanks for posting these. Happy WW
The texture of the starfruit – at least, the ones I’ve had – is closer to an apple, Chinese apple pear, or jumbu fruit, but less dense. Its flavour is somewhat sour and reminiscent of like a crabapple or Chinese apple pear.
I think it’s the lighting and angle that makes it resemble an orange in texture.
